We are Bajans and our home is beautiful Barbados. Our heritage is rich with achievement & struggle. On 30th November 2016, in celebration of our 50th anniversary of Independence, the 2nd Heritage Parade Barbados will take place. The parade starts in Historic Bridgetown and finishes at the Garrison Savannah. The parade will consist of costumed paraders in 6 sections; each section will represent an aspect of Barbados Heritage. Many of the costumes in the parade will have been created and made by the individual parader. Costumes will range from the simple to the elaborate and will represent Bajan Creativity in all its various forms.
Live musicians playing steel pan, African drums and other percussion instruments will accompany the parade as we joyously head to the Garrison Savannah. This event is open to EVERYBODY. We repeat, this event is open to EVERYBODY – families, schools, community groups, faith based groups, companies & individuals.
If you are looking to be a part of a Barbados 50th Anniversary Independence activity this could be it!
